I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.  And in His
Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, through whom all things were created, who died
on the cross to redeem us from our sins, and who rose again to life in order
that we may receive eternal life.  "For God loved the world so much that He
gave His only Son, so that anyone who believes in Him shall not perish but
have eternal life.  God did not send His Son into the world to condemn it,
but to save it."  John 3: 16-17.  I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Breath of Life,
the Comfortor, the bringer of all truth and wisdom through our Lord.
My and my wife's faith in God is the very center of our lives, and we read His
Word daily, as well as thanking Him constantly for all the blessings He
bestows upon us.  OUR GOD IS AWESOME!
Read Psalm 91. This is one of my favorite chapters in the Bible.
Whenever I travel, I recite this Psalm.
We live within the shadow of the Almighty, sheltered by the God who is above all gods.  This I declare, that He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; He is my God, and I am trusting Him.  For He rescues you from every trap, and protects you from the fatal plague.  He will shield you with His wings!  They will shelter you.  His faithful promises are your armor.  Now you don't need to be afraid of the dark any more, nor fear the dangers of the day; nor dread the plagues of darkness, nor disasters in the morning.  Though a thousand fall at my side, though ten thousand are dying around me, the evil will not touch me.  I will see how the wicked are punished but I will not share it.  For Jehovah is my refuge!  I choose the God above all gods to shelter me.  How then can evil overtake me or any plague come near?  For He orders His angels to protect you wherever you go.  They will steady you with their hands to keep you from stumbling against the rocks on the trail.  You can safely meet a lion or step on poisonous snakes, yes, even trample them beneath your feet!  For the Lord says, "Because he loves me, I will rescue him; I will make him great because he trusts in my name.  When he calls on me I will answer; I will be with him in trouble, and rescue him and honor him.  I will satisfy him with a full life and give him my salvation.
Our Lord Jesus gave us what is often called "the great commission" - to go out and preach the Good News of His Gospel.  No matter where I go, or what I'm doing, I feel this is the one thing I must always put before all shine the Light of Christ that is within me through His offer others the Hope of forgiveness and eternal life through Jesus Christ and what He sacrificed for us at Calvary.
More and more I have found myself recommending The One Year Bible to anyone and everyone who has an interest in reading Scripture.  It occurred to me that of the countless books I've read, the most important book of all, The Bible, was the only one I had never read in its entirety.  Like most Christians, I regularly read selected verses, chapters or stories, yet didn't seem to have the discipline to read the whole Bible.   In September of 2004, my wife and I began reading The One Year Bible together.  The layout is simple, and requires little time each day, particularly in view of the importance of the subject matter to our lives.  Each day's reading includes a selection from the Old Testament, New Testament, a Psalm and a Proverb, each section going chronologically.  It's like having a meal every day!  What a feeling of accomplishment we had when, in September of 2005, we had read the entire Bible, and learned more than we could ever have imagined.  We have completed our "second and third tour" and are now well on our way through our "fourth tour" and what is amazing is how we find ourselves seeing and hearing even more truths than we did on our first, second or even third read-throughs.  The Bible truly is a living book, with layer upon layer of truth and wisdom for all those who seek understanding through the peace, love and joy of God's Light.
So, all those who thirst for knowledge, go out and get a One Year Bible today and begin the most amazing and important journey of your life!

The One Year Bible is available on
as well as at most Christian book stores.
